Passenger Side Door Lock Wont Work

If one set of switches can control the windows it s likely the switch on the opposing side that needs to be replaced.

Passenger side door lock wont work.

I already disconnected the driver and passenger side door lock switches and when disconnected the back doors still locked and unlocked by themselves. If your key fob remote lock unlock doesn t work but the locks work on the door you need a new battery. The door lock works in only one direction. Again if one door doesn t work but others do the problem could be with the door lock solenoid.

The driver side window was stuck down and all door locks would not work all the other windows went up and down as they should but still no drivers window or door locks. In most cases the problem with a door lock actuator is limited to only one door. The windows work off the passenger side switch but not the drivers side or vice versa. A fuse is blown.

If the driver door lock switch doesn t work try the passenger door lock switch or any other door. I checked all fuses even 68 relay but still could not find problem i drove 18 miles in 30 degree weather at nite got home and was very confused with this truck. When we replaced the battery the door locks started unlocking and locking by themselves with the key in the ignition and without the key in the ignition. The battery died and had to be replaced.

If they work then you ve narrowed down your problem. Locks work from the switch but not the remote. Replacing the fuse will correct the problem. Replacing it may require removing the car door panel.

This issue also indicates a bad lock actuator. In some vehicles the cable that connects the door lock actuator to the inner door handle may be built into the actuator assembly. This is a cheap and easy fix. If one door doesn t work but others do the problem could be a blown fuse. The solenoid is bad. One of the easiest ways to diagnose the switch is by trying to use other door locks in the car.
